Not known for taking down NFL (or even college) quarterbacks, we had a unanimous decision this week to give the prestigious award to the commissioner of the NBA.
Why, you ask?
Well, David Stern has a BIG set of balls on him. He rejected a trade that would have sent Chris Paul from New Orleans to the Los Angeles Lakers. The reasoning was, well….the NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets at the moment and they felt the team was better with Chris Paul on their roster.
Ballsy!
Do we care about this? Not really. We’re just giving the award to David Stern because he clearly represents Nubag at this moment.
Talk about being a professional. Aldon Smith sprints off the field and sits down on the bench after this sack, which earned him Nubag sack of the week! Congratulations to Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49′ers.
Everyone remembers their first sack. Jason Worild’s first sack was on a back-up quarterback, but that doesn’t make it any less of a sack. Congrats to Jason for earning Nubag sack of the week honors!
Nubag’s sack of the week is Miami’s own Jared Odrick. Not so much for the sack on Buffalo Bills Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, but more for the sack dance that would make Pee Wee Herman proud! Check out Odrick doing the Pee Wee in this Nubag sack of the week.
4.5 Sacks. A New England Franchise Record! This is hands-down the most sack-hungry player in the league at the moment.
Andre Carter sacked Mark Sanchez 4.5 times. No. That is not a misprint, that’s 4.5 sacks. While we browsed the league for all the sacks we could handle, we felt it was only right to reward this sack monster with the prestigious Nubag Sack of the Week Honors.
Sack of the week comes from the College football ranks this week. West Virginia’s Bruce Irvin, goes BALLS OUT on this series and gets two sacks in two plays. See for yourself below.
Bruce, congrats on the Sack of the Week honors.
It’s become something of a cult hit, this “Tebowing” after a moment of success. Dropping down on one knee as to give thanks.
We’d like to give thanks, and a GIANT SACK of Nubag, to Steven Tullock. The member of the Detroit Lions has earned the prestigious honor of the Nubag Sack of the week for his sack on Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
In need of a big sack, ex Hurricane great DJ Williams gave the Tebow followers and Denver fans what they wanted: a sack on Dolphins Quarterback Matt Moore.
This sack sparked the Denver Broncos in overtime and led to a Matt Prater field goal, giving the Broncos and improbable comeback win. Trailing 15-0 late in the game, Tim Tebow went into Beast Mode and played like he had the biggest balls on the field.
Congrats to DJ Williams on winning Nubag’s sack of the week. Video of the play can be seen on NFL.com
